US embassy condoles death of Bangladeshi student in Missouri

The US embassy in Dhaka on Thursday (July 20) expressed deep sorrow over a Bangladeshi student shot dead in the US state of Missouri.

The embassy posted a message in this regard on its official Facebook page.

According to the post, "We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of a 22-year-old student from Bangladesh, who died tragically in an apparent robbery in St. Louis, Missouri in the United States. We expect a thorough investigation of this senseless crime by the appropriate authorities that will bring the perpetrators to justice. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."

Earlier, Bangladeshi student Yeaz Uddin Ahmed Romim, 22, was shot dead by miscreants in the Missouri state of United States of America (USA) on early Wednesday.

The incident took place at 3:30am (Bangladesh time) and it is believed that the motive behind the crime was to rob the victim's car and cash.

Yeaz Uddin Ahmed Romim, hailed from the Mirsarai upazila in Chattogram district. Romim was the son of the late freedom fighter Samshuddin Ahmed.

Romim moved to the United States in 2016 with his aunt. He was studying Computer Science at a local college and simultaneously working at a gas station.
