Dhaka, Bangladesh Global: A Bangla translation of an English-language biography of BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia was handed over to the former prime minister on Saturday. Titled “Begum Khaleda Ziar Jibon O Sangram” (Begum Khaleda Zia’s Life and Struggles) the book has been translated into Bangla from English by Professor Dr Mahbub Ullah.
The original English-language book “Begum Khaleda Zia: Her Life, Her Story” was unveiled in November 2018. It was written by senior journalist Mahfuz Ullah as the first biography on the three-time prime minister.
The 700-page book tells about Khaleda Zia’s life from her birth in Dinajpur in 1945 to the last days of the 2007 military-backed interim government. It also highlights how the charismatic political leader went on to marry a military officer, and later shortly after her husband Ziaur Rahman’s assassination assumed the huge responsibility of the political party Zia founded.
