School student hacked to death in Natore

Natore, Bangladesh Global: A student of class nine was reportedly hacked to death by his classmates in Natore on Thursday. Police have arrested four people in connection with the killing of the student. The deceased was Md Himel Hossain, 15, a class nine student at Patul-Hampania High School in Naldanga upazila of the district. ATM Mainul Islam, additional superintendent of Natore Police, on Friday said Himel remained missing after one of his friends took him from his home on Thursday afternoon.

As the night set in, his anxious family members started searching for him in nearby areas. Later, Faruk Sardar, father of Himel, complained to the local police station. Following the complaint, police first tracked the phone number of Partha and arrested him at night. After quizzing Partha at the police station, they arrested Himel’s classmates Sujan, neighbourhood friends Mehdi and Shimul.

The police official said Partha took Himel from his home on Thursday and since then he remained missing. According to their given information, police recovered Himel's body from a cornfield behind the local Piprul Union Parishad building around 1:30 am on Friday. There were marks of injuries with sharp weapons on Himel’s head, neck. Police are interrogating the arrestees to know the reason behind the killing, he added.
